General Legal Aid | Brevard County Legal Aid

Free civil legal advice, counsel and representation is provided to low-income and disadvantaged Brevard County residents on issues involving family law, domestic violence, landlord/tenant (must be current on rent), guardianship, bankruptcy (if debt exceeds $10,00 and more than 50 percent is medical bills), and consumer cases that exceed small claims. Domestic violence cases receive priority handling and may receive immediate assistance with injunction for protection advice and hearings. Senior citizens and persons determined to be terminally ill are assisted with all areas of civil law.

None for legal service, but client may be asked to assist with litigation costs (such as deposition and witness fees) in highly contested legal matters.

Applicants must have a gross income below 125 percent of the federal poverty level; higher limit allowed for domestic violence victims and senior citizens
