Any person seeking substance abuse treatment from criminal charges; Driving under the Influence (DUI) must first contact the Florida Safety Council, then select SCR as their substance abuse treatment provider. Groups are held in 3 locations in Brevard County; Cocoa, Titusville, and Melbourne. Groups are held once a week for 1.5 hours. Each client is screened for the appropriate placement into treatment. A comprehensive psychosocial evaluation is conducted with a qualified counselor. SCR assists each client to comply with their criminal justice requirements for probation, DUI requirements, or to obtain and maintain their driver’s license.

Program provides families and individuals identified as at risk of homelessness and current or history of Substance Misuse, with past due Rental Assistance.

Program serves adults with severe and persistent mental illness, who may also have a co-occurring substance abuse disorder. The programs multidisciplinary staff obtain or directly provide all mental health services to persons served, primarily in their homes or the community, including: psychiatric care; medical referral and follow-up; individual supportive therapy; crisis assessment and intervention; substance abuse services; work-related vocational services; support in activities of daily living; social, interpersonal relationship and leisure time training; case management services; and supportive services. In addition, the program assists individuals to obtain affordable housing, which may include assistance with security deposits, utilities, and rent.

Assistance for family law in Brevard is not provided.

The Gardiner Scholarship is a program that assists families in personalizing educational plans for children with specific special needs. Eligible students, aged 3 through 12th grade, must have a diagnosis such as anaphylaxis, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, deafness, Down syndrome, dual sensory impairment, hospital or homebound status, muscular dystrophy, Phelan McDermid syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare disease or condition, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury, visual impairment, Williams syndrome, or an intellectual disability (severe cognitive impairment). Additionally, students identified as high risk due to developmental delays and not older than 5 on September 1 may qualify for the year they apply. The Gardiner Scholarship enables parents to allocate scholarship funds to approved programs and providers, including private schools, therapists, specialists, curriculum, technology, and college savings accounts. Children in foster care, out-of-home care, or experiencing homelessness may also qualify.
